What Is a Nautical Mile?

A nautical mile is a unit of distance used at sea. One nautical mile equals 1.852 kilometres. Charter routes in the Stockholm Archipelago may be described in nautical miles, but actual journey times also depend on the vessel, speed limits, weather and sea conditions.
