Idöborg

A privately owned island just east of Nämdö, with a sheltered guest harbor a short walk from Strandbaren.

Idöborg is a privately owned island of 7 hectares in the Nämdö archipelago, in Värmdö municipality. The island's own history says the white Jugend villa at the highest point, with a green roof, was built in 1909 by Gustav Pott, who owned Stockholms Skofabrik. Between 1910 and 1914 he had wooden bridges built to neighboring islands. The bridges are gone; some foundations remain. Torsten Kreuger later owned the island. Today the island has a guest harbor, the restaurant Strandbaren, a sauna, and cottages. The operator places the guest harbor on the east side, sheltered, with room for about 50 boats, including 18 Y-boom berths and fixed mooring lines. A daytime stay under 3 hours is free. There is a short walk to the restaurant, sauna, shower, and accommodations. The sauna changing rooms have showers and toilets. Skippo publishes the position 59°12.180' N, 18°45.760' E. Waxholmsbolaget and Stavsnäs Båttaxi call at the island. From Strandvägen, cruise time is 1h 45min at 15 knots in a motorboat, and 3h at 8 knots in a yacht. Those are cruise times at those speeds, not a scheduled departure.
