Sauna Panorama is a private sauna on Idöborg, a privately owned island of 7 hectares in the Nämdö archipelago, in Värmdö municipality. The sauna has panoramic views over the water and takes groups of up to 20 guests. Seating is spread over four levels, and there is a relaxation area where you can rest between rounds in the heat and a dip in the sea. One sauna towel per guest is included, along with access to separate changing rooms for women and men, showers and toilets. Stockholm By Boat offers it as a private sauna session of about two hours, and as a package with a private motorboat and a licensed captain, with about 1.5 hours' ride each way and two hours in the sauna. The sauna is available all year. Idöborg has a history of its own. The island's operator says the white Jugend villa with a green roof at the highest point was built in 1909 by Gustav Pott, who owned Stockholms Skofabrik. Between 1910 and 1914 he had wooden bridges built to neighbouring islands. The bridges are gone, though some foundations remain. Torsten Kreuger later owned the island. Today Idöborg has a guest harbour, the restaurant Strandbaren, the sauna and cottages. The operator places the guest harbour on the sheltered east side of the island, with room for about 50 boats, including 18 Y-boom berths and fixed mooring lines. A daytime stay of under 3 hours is free, and it is a short walk from the harbour to the restaurant, the sauna, showers and accommodation. The operator says Strandbaren is open from early spring until just before Christmas, so you can combine the sauna with a meal for much of the year. Waxholmsbolaget and Stavsnäs Båttaxi also call at Idöborg, and Skippo publishes the harbour position as 59°12.180' N, 18°45.760' E. Idöborg lies just east of Nämdö, far enough out that the trip itself becomes part of the experience, through the central archipelago and out towards the Nämdö islands.
