Nämdö is a car-free island of about 10.5 km² in the middle Stockholm archipelago, in Värmdö municipality. Large parts of the north of the island are protected as the Nämdö nature reserve. At Solvik there is a guest harbor, a grocery store, a bakery, a restaurant and a fuel dock selling diesel and petrol. At Sand you find the local heritage centre and an archipelago museum in the old school. Nämdö church, a simple neo-Gothic wooden church inaugurated in the autumn of 1876, stands between the Sand and Solvik jetties. Östanviks gård on the island is an organic farm. Waxholmsbolaget serves Nämdö's eight jetties from Saltsjöbaden and Stavsnäs. From Strandvägen, the route runs via Skurusundet, Baggensstäket, Fällströmmen and Ingaröfjärden and is an estimated 26 nautical miles.
