Utö is an island in Haninge municipality, in the southern Stockholm archipelago, by the bay Mysingen. Waxholmsbolaget calls at several jetties on the island. The busiest is Gruvbryggan; farther south are Näsudden and Spränga. Archipelago boats run from Årsta brygga in Haninge to those jetties throughout the year, and in summer also from Strömkajen in Stockholm. Gruvbryggan is the landing place by Gruvbyn, the old mining village. Iron ore was mined on Utö, and the northern part of the island, including the old mines, is Utö nature reserve. Utö värdshus is in the former mine office, in use as an inn since the 1890s. The guest harbor is in Gruvbyn and has a northern and a southern part. The northern harbor has the boat fuel dock, and that is where the scheduled Waxholm boats berth. Waxholmsbolaget says bicycles can be rented on the island. The island's own site describes a grocery shop and restaurants by the guest harbor. A bridge connects Utö with the neighboring island Ålö.
