Stockholm archipelago restaurants with their own jetty, where you can moor right below the table, include The Old Smokehouse in Lännersta, about 25 minutes from Strandvägen by private motorboat, Grundet on Rögrund (1h 20min), Motorverkstan on Djurö (1h 30min), Svartsö Krog (1h 30min) and Ingmarsö Krog (1h 40min). Each one sets its own mooring rules, summarised below. For the full list of restaurants, read our guide to Stockholm archipelago restaurants you can reach by boat.

All times are our estimated cruise times from Strandvägen at 15 knots in a motorboat and 8 knots in a yacht, not scheduled departures. Most of these restaurants are seasonal, so check opening dates before you go.

1. The Old Smokehouse, 25 minutes

The Old Smokehouse is a wood-fired barbecue restaurant in Lännersta, Nacka, with views over Lännerstasundet. It has its own jetty with about ten mooring places on buoys, and a food truck on the jetty opens at weekends and on sunny days. Tables on the large heated terrace cannot be booked: it is first come, first served.

2. Grundet, 1h 20min

Grundet is a red sea tavern with bed and breakfast on Rögrund, a small island on Nämdöfjärden. Visitors arriving by their own boat can moor at the berths next to the tavern, but not overnight. Lunch is drop-in, booking is recommended for dinner, and the restaurant is open every day in high summer, from late June to mid-August.

3. Motorverkstan Bistro & Bar, 1h 30min

Motorverkstan is a summer bistro and bar in an old boatyard on Djurö, by Djurhamn. It has two jetties where sailboats and motorboats, large or small, are welcome to moor, and it says guests who are having a good time may stay overnight. It is open every day from Midsummer Day until the school term starts in August and recommends booking a table.

4. Svartsö Krog, 1h 30min

Svartsö Krog is a seasonal restaurant among the pines at Alsvik on Svartsö. Visiting boats can moor at its own jetty directly below the restaurant. Places cannot be booked, but there is usually room, and Alsvik guest harbour, about 200 metres away, can be booked through Svartsö Lanthandel.

5. Ingmarsö Krog, 1h 40min

Ingmarsö Krog is a waterside restaurant on southern Ingmarsö. Diners can use its jetties during their booked sitting, and jetty places cannot be booked. There are four mooring buoys for boats of 2,000 to 6,500 kg, and smaller boats can lie along the jetty. With a table from 19:30 you can stay overnight, leaving the jetty by 11:00 the next day.

Also close to the water

  • Restaurang J, 15 minutes: Hotel J says guests arriving by their own boat can moor at the jetty by the restaurant, space permitting.
  • Idöborg, 1h 45min: the restaurant Strandbaren is a short walk from a sheltered guest harbour with room for about 50 boats.
  • Sandhamn, 1h 50min: the KSSS guest harbour in front of Seglarhotellet has around 150 guest berths and is a short walk from Sandhamns Värdshus.

Not open now: Finnhamns krog on Finnhamn has closed for the 2026 season and says it reopens at Valborg, at the end of April 2027, and the restaurant on Getfoten says it is closed until further notice.

Arriving with a private boat

With a private charter you do not need your own boat or a boating licence: every charter includes a licensed captain, and the boat is private for your group. A motorboat reaches Grundet, Svartsö Krog and Ingmarsö Krog faster, while a yacht suits The Old Smokehouse, 45 minutes away at 8 knots. Send a booking request with your date, group size and the restaurant you have in mind, and we will plan the route around your table.
